He has held a number of important appointments like Senior Engineer (Electronics) of two IAF bases, Senior Engineer (Aircraft) of a premier IAF base and Chief Engineer of a forward fighter base. He also commanded the Air Force Communication Center where under his guidance many innovative reclamation technologies were developed for aircraft engines and aerostructure. His obsession to improve aircraft maintenance standards continuously, generated a professional work ethos at the depot, enhancing productivity in spite of a spares crunch. He has undertaken specialized training in the USSR and USA.  As a member of IAF delegation, he has been to the UK, South Korea and Japan.

He was awarded a commendation by AOC-in-C WAC and was commended by CAS during his service career for his consistently outstanding contribution to the Service. He was also awarded the “Ati Vishisht Seva Medal” and ‘Vishisht Seva Medal’ by The President of India. He is also a keen sportsman and an avid golfer.
